  1. And now, my son Methuselah, call together all your brothers and gather them to me, because all the children of your mother must hear the words of my mouth and set them for an inheritance over their generations forever.

  2. And I, Enoch, began to speak to them: "My sons, hear the words of your father. Listen in uprightness and walk not in the stubbornness of your hearts.

  3. Do not say: ‘Our father is with God, and we are righteous.’ Do not approach Him with a double heart, nor lie before Him with your lips.

  4. For He is the God of righteousness, who knows all secrets, and nothing is hidden from Him by any craft.

  5. Do not speak unrighteousness before Him, nor lie, nor serve Him with a double heart. Rather, draw near to Him with fear and reverence, and always speak truth before Him.

  6. For He is the God of justice, who examines all the secrets in the heart and in the inner parts, and knows all your deeds. Therefore, walk in the light of righteousness, and it will lead you on the right path, and you will not stumble.

  7. For righteousness will be your companion and will preserve you from all sin. Woe to those who build unrighteousness and oppression and lay deceit as a foundation; for they shall be suddenly overthrown, and they shall have no peace.

  8. Woe to those who build their houses with sin. For from all their foundations they shall be overthrown, and by the sword they shall fall. And those who acquire gold and silver in judgment suddenly shall perish.

  9. Woe to you, rich, for you have trusted in your riches. And from your riches you shall depart, because you have not remembered the Most High in the days of your riches.

  10. You have blasphemed and committed unrighteousness and are ready for the day of slaughter and the day of darkness and the day of the great judgment.

  11. Thus I say to you: He who created you will overthrow you, and for your fall there shall be no compassion, and your Creator will rejoice at your destruction.

  12. And your righteous ones in those days shall be a reproach to the sinners and the godless.

  13. But now I swear to you, the righteous, by the glory of the Great One, and by His honored name, and by His magnificent splendor: I understand this mystery and have read the heavenly tablets, and have seen the writings of the holy ones and found that which is written and inscribed concerning you.

  14. And I have seen that generations upon generations shall practice righteousness, and those who do not walk in righteousness shall pass away. Their names shall be erased from the book of life, and their seed shall be destroyed forever, and their spirits shall be slain.

  15. And I have seen that there is a prepared inheritance for the righteous and the holy, and for them there shall be light, joy, and peace, and they shall inherit the earth.

  16. And then there shall be given to the righteous wisdom, and they shall all live and never again sin, either through forgetfulness or through pride; but those who possess wisdom shall be humble.

  17. And they shall not again transgress, nor shall they sin all the days of their life, nor shall they die of wrath or anger; but they shall complete the number of days of their life, and their lives shall increase in peace, and the years of their joy shall be multiplied in everlasting gladness and peace all the days of their life.
