  1. Now, therefore, I swear to you, the righteous, by the glory of the Great and Honored and Mighty One in dominion, that I understand this mystery:

  2. For I have read the tablets of heaven, and seen the writing of the holy ones, and found written and inscribed concerning them—

  3. That all goodness and joy and glory are prepared for them, and are written down for the spirits of those who have died in righteousness.

  4. Many good things shall be given to you in recompense for your labors, and your lot shall be more excellent than that of the living.

  5. And the spirits of you who have died in righteousness shall live and rejoice, and their spirits shall not perish, nor their memorial from before the face of the Great One for all the generations of the world; therefore, no longer fear their condemnation.

  6. Woe to you, sinners, when you die in your sin! And those who are like you say regarding you, “Blessed are the sinners: they have seen all their days.

  7. And now they have died in prosperity and wealth, and have not seen tribulation or murder in their life; and they have died in honor, and judgment has not been executed upon them during their life.”

  8. Know that their souls shall be made to descend into Sheol in torment, and their bodies shall be consumed. Their spirits shall have much darkness, and they shall dwell in chaos and be judged in bitter torment for generations.

  9. Woe to you, for there is no peace for you!
